Okada's piece was sold and displayed among the works of hundreds of national and international artists whose cards ranged widely in style, media, and themes. The sale of our work benefits the A.I.R. Fellowship Program for Emerging and Underrepresented Artists and other programs that serve our mission to advance the status of women in the arts.

Katsura Okada was born in Tokyo, Japan and has lived and worked in New York since 2002. Okada earned a Master of Japanese Calligraphy Arts from the Tokyo Academy of Calligraphy Arts in 1992. Since 1990, Okada has been shown extensively in solo and group exhibitions in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Slovakia, Japan, Canada, Mexico and the United States. Recently Okada’s work has been exhibited at Hammond Museum in North Salam, NY, Adam State University in Alamosa, CO, Harper College in Palatine, IL, Marymount Manhattan College Hewitt Gallery of Art in NYC, the Museum of Arts & Crafts-Itami and Imai Art Museum in Japan, A.I.R. Gallery in NY, and Black and White Gallery in Brooklyn. Okada has received first prize/grants from the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the Shoto Art Museum in Tokyo and the SoHo Art Competition in NYC among others. Publications included ARTspeak, Manhattan Arts, NY Arts Magazine, the Yomiuri America newspaper, LUXOS – (Milano), Collezioni Sport & Street – (Modena), IL NOTIZIARIO DELL' A.I.A.M.
