PROJECT: POSTCARD 2017 at New Mexico State University

EXHIBIT: November 27-30, 2017, University Art Gallery, D.W. Williams Hall, NMSU.

GALLERY HOURS: Tuesday Saturday, 10 AM 4 PM (The Gallery will be open on Monday, November 27 to allow for early access to view the postcard exhibition).

POSTCARD SALE: Thursday, November 30, 2017, 5:30 PM 7:30 PM.

POSTCARD TICKETS: $40 each, available at NMSU Department of Art, D.W. Williams Hall, Room 100A and the Cutter Gallery located at the corner of University Ave. and El Paso (each ticket entitles the bearer to select one artwork during the November 30 event).

LOCATION: The University Art Gallery is located in D.W. Williams Hall, near the intersection of University and Solano Avenues in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

DESCRIPTION:
PROJECT: POSTCARD; AN EXHIBIT AND FUNDRAISER BENEFITING NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF ART.

The 4th biannual Project: Postcard exhibit and fundraiser will be presented from November 26-30, 2017 by the NMSU Department of Art and the University Art Gallery in D.W. Williams Hall on the NMSU campus. Postcard-sized artwork created and donated by alumni, faculty, and students, as well as regional, national and international artists will be exhibited and offered for sale.


The exhibit will run from November 27 through November 30 in the University Art Gallery, culminating with the art sale on Thursday, November 30 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. Event tickets are $40 per person and entitle the ticket holder to one artwork for each ticket purchased. Tickets can be purchased at the Department of Art, Room 100A in D.W. Williams Hall on the NMSU campus and the Cutter Gallery located on the corner of University Ave. and El Paseo in Las Cruces NM.

Proceeds from Project: Postcard 2017 will support the Department of Art’s educational mission to provide an environment that facilitates collaboration and interdisciplinary crossover while fostering innovation, creativity, experimentation, and technical expertise. The funds raised through Project: Postcard 2017 will be used to support the replacement of D.W. Williams Hall new art building which will provide an innovative and new space to support the needs of both the Department of Art and the University Art Gallery.

DESCRIPTION:
A distinguished group of artists in many media have joined together to support WBAI Radio (99.5 FM in NYC). WBAI is New York City's most beloved and respected voice for progressive art, culture and politics. This benefit is raising money for the capital fund that will finance the creation of new and expanded studios and offices.
The auction is previewing online beginning November 1, and online bidding will open on November 2. Final bids (absentee and buy-now bids will be accepted) at Chesterfield Gallery (109 Norfolk St. New York, NY 10002) 6-9pm on November 16.
Admission to event is free and open to the public.
